Striving for a life of perfection has no story. No humor. No memories. Forget perfection and go for human. Embrace the mistakes. No one remembers the nearly perfect Thanksgiving. But everyone talks for years about the Thanksgiving where Mr. Tom jumped from the platter while dad was attempting to carve him, slid across the table, and landed in Uncle Frank's lap. Ten years later they are still laughing about it, connecting over the story, and rejoicing in the adventure.
